Primary Scripture
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick.” — Proverbs 13:12
Supporting Scriptures
Psalm 62:5; Isaiah 55:8–9
Devotional Reflection
Unmet expectations can quietly wound the heart. Often, it isn’t the loss itself that hurts most—it’s what we hoped would be different.
God is not dismissive of disappointment, but He does not want us anchored to it. When expectations replace trust, disappointment deepens.
Letting go of expectations is not giving up on God.
It is trusting Him beyond your assumptions.
Application
What expectation do you need to surrender back to God today?
Prayer
“Lord, help me trust You even when my expectations are not met.”
